Help Installing SSD

Hi guys, here's the situation:

I bought an SSD for my Macbook Pro last year. I have since sold the MBP but I wanted to reuse my SSD for my desktop PC. What I did was unplug my existing HDD (which I will still use as my storage drive) and plugged in my SSD. I then used a bootable USB with Win7 to ry and install it. Nothing happened, the computer did not go into the Windows Installation page.

I then plugged my HDD in and tried to format my SSD since it came from a Mac and may be in a different format. I am supposed to format it to NTFS right? I have however not been able to do so. I keep getting the error: Windows was unable to complete the format or The format did not complete successfully from the Virtual Disk Manager. I then tried to delete the volume but then I get this error: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.

What is wrong?! I would really appreciate it if anyone has any ideas to help. Thanks!

Did u set 1st boot to your bootable usb(windows 7) in bios? I believe u didn't and the com try to boot from your ssd which won't boot as it contains Mac OS.

the file format used by mac is normally not readable by windows. u need third party software to detect and format the partition. plug it as usb drive if u have casing or as extra drive not ur boot drive

dunno abt mac, but suggest try diskpart from within windows,
or boot with gparted livecd to try format (best disconnect all other drives in case mixup)

dunno abt mac,

in the mac os
download a paragon partition

run that program
it will assist mac os to read and format ntfs format
viola

Thanks everyone for your advice! I had to format my SSD outside my desktop using a SATA to USB cable. Installed Windows 7 and everything is working. The problem now is my HDD cannot be read together with the SSD. Guess I need to do the same formatting as I did with my SSD.
