Hihi guys. Would really need some computer experts on this.. recently whenever i plug in a jack into the mic port, not only will the mic not function, it will also cause my comp to go a little haywire. Like when i plug my mic in and restart comp, itll take at least 30mins to bootup to desktop and yet a lot of programs take a long time to open. However when i disconnect the mic from the port and restart my comp, it takes less than a minute and everything seems normal and working properly..
so right now im not sure if the mic port is damaged or something worse? Would getting a usb mic bypass this problem?
Thanks guyss!

rear mic port or front
front audio ports are usually made poorly...but that's my opinion since i had 3 time problem with using both front auido ports

1st was unable to get any audio input/output when both jacked in
2nd was static on mic no matter what situation
3rd is static on mic with usb ports in.... thankfully my friend gave me a usb headset

a usb audio adapter should bypass your problem but advise to plug it in after boot up
