HELP: Laptop battery

I'm using Acer Aspire 4937G. Since 2-3 months ago my laptop has prompt me to change my battery. Without a power source, it will only last me around 20-30 minutes.
Should I buy a new battery? If yes, where can i get a cheap one?
I'm on a tight budget. I don't really care if its original or not.

I have bought laptop batteries twice from Sim Lim. There's a shop on level 2 that specialises in laptop batteries. Their prices are quite reasonable between $70 to $90. Because they sell OEM batteries, bring your laptop along so that they can see your battery model and you can do 'fitting' on the spot. They typically give 30-days warranty, i think.

With proper care, a battery should last you at least 3 to 4 years before it's capacity is diminished enough to warrant a new battery. If the battery is kept conditioned, not allowed to get too hot or too cold, and is stored and maintained properly, it should last at least that long. I have an HP laptop that is just over 5 years old, and the original battery is still working fine...i get nearly 2 hours of run time out of it with the settings I use on my laptop.

Managed to find my receipt. The shop i usually patronise is Unicell International #02-70.

But do note, batteries in Singapore Climate have only 200-300 cycles. You will need to do constant reconditioning to maintain battery life.

Risk of OEM batteries are that they sometimes use China battery cells which might not be very reliable, that's why only 30 days warranty. The Japanese cells version, which are more expensive have 6 months warranty typically.

Selling Notebook parts.
Else, 3rd party batteries from eBay / others might have.

Alternatively run it without a battery.

This one is small and will bring out, so need battery.

Checked it out online on repair sites - received quote of min $120.
Also found it on ebay (same voltage) and Qoo10 (different voltage) - both around $40

Not sure if it's battery problem or motherboard problem, so just go with ebay.
At most wasted $40, and I have good reason to buy new laptop

Looked at some help pages online and diagnosis tests for motherboard too.
Currently looks like possibly battery problem. Hopefully it's just simple replace battery.
Waiting now for battery to arrive ...
