Help me troubleshoot please!

Recently bought a rig from Tradepac recommended by MoneyFace some time back. I got no problem starting up Windows but whenever I restart, be it after Windows update or normal restart, it will either fail to boot up or flicker on and off at the start up screen. Brought it down 2 times to Tradepac to rectify but everything was fine there. The technician told me it's either my
1. Monitor
2. Monitor power cord or
3. HDMI cable

Monitor is a Philips Brilliance 230C LCD reused from previous rig. The power cord as well. The whole rig including Windows 7 64bit, CPU power cord and HDMI cable are brand new. Anyone met with this situation before?

If it's the monitor faulty, can recommend me one of at least similiar size or slightly bigger? Prefer fully black to match my In Win BK644. And also a black preferred 2.1 system to match my rig as well. I don't game so anything that is cheap and good, better than my current will do. Thanks alot.

doubt a monitor can cause the problem you mentioned

Sometimes can boot up to desktop but keep flickering and sometimes totally black screen like monitor shut down.

Maybe I change to another new set of wireless keyboard and mouse because I am reusing previous one also.

Do you have a spare monitor/cable/keyboard&mouse to check?

Black screen, if it is indeed monitor/cable issue, can also mean that the pc successfully booted into windows but u can't see it. Best way is to crank up the volume and listen for windows sound or hitting a keyboard key that would cause the 'tink' sound.
