I know the above mobo is quite popular among many builds recently.

Anybody facing issues running Windows 8.1, in particular the Killer LAN driver because it seems to be conflicting with my friend's entire rig causing some boot issues?

TIA!

Mine is BSOD upon every cold boot. Then need to restart in order to go to Windows. But once in Windows, it's stable but the dump files indicate it's the killer network manager that's causing the error.

Sounds like a good idea to stay away from 8.1 >,<

Since this is one of the MB im looking at, are all of you having problems on win 8.1?

Personally i dont plan on going 8.1 since BnS CN doesnt work well in 8.1 but now im worried of this will cause problems with win 8 too

yepp leh but i dont have that problem. why not you try use a wireless adapter to test instead of the ethernet port. cause that port people say alot problem with the driver

Frm my 5mins dig into google, seems like quite a few have problems with the killer Ethernet drivers causing crashes in both windows 8 and 8.1
Feels like a deal breaker. I was attracted to this killer ethernet thing since i multitask often so the idea of optimising the game connection over other apps was sweet.

We need more input from users of this board+win 8/8.1 combo

Really didn't expect such an essential component to face these kind of buggy issues. Probably not msi fault but killer ever since bought by Qualcomm.

I read some of the Windows forums and this came up as one possible solution. Will try it out first. Cause with or without the killer driver, the bsod still comes back upon every cold boot.

If possible take a picture of it

Okay. Will record the video of the booting issue tonight after trying out the standalone driver. Thanks hengheng.
