Help needed! Dead laptop?

My laptop had a lil knock to the floor.. What happen is screen went blank but power is still on... So i forced shut down(by holding the power button) Then switch it on and its on but it got stucked to windows welcome screen for a very long time.. Force off it again... Now blank screen with "OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND" appear.... Any experts can explain what happen?

mayb ur mbr gone. try to fix ur mbr. (master boot record)

Likely HDD gone up lorry due to the fall.

How to fix it? Reformat the whole lappy? I still wanna save the data inside if possible....

If under warranty, send to service centre; only they can trace root cause. If no warranty and u want to try to fix urself......try going into ur bios and check ur HDD. If not possible, another way is to take out ur HDD and put it into a external usb HDD casing and connect to another comp to check.

burn a ubuntu live cd and boot via the cd in live cd modd n check if ur data still therr

No warranty.. Unable to go bios... Before i try taking out the hdd..wanna rectify something... I tried putting the recovery disc.. After reading the disc and uploading, it mention something like recovery disc not compatible or unable to use for my lappy...when actually it really is the recovery disc for my lappy.... Gone case?

If u can't go into Bios.....it may point to more than a HDD crash......best if u bring to shop for resolution.
