[Help Needed] Folder Content Issue..?

Hello,

I need some help here on some Folder/file issue. I have saved some pictures into some folders in my ext HDD. But when i checked today. 2 of my folders gave some issues & can't open it, shows 0 byte. See Pic below. Is it corrupted or missing something.

Can someone please advice on how to recover it please.

Was i the process of doing house keeping and backing up but ......

Do u know what caused this?

These 2 were among 40 other folders in my "Kyoto" main folder, some having larger folder size. I moved these 2 to another folder to do a screenshot. Waited "forever" liao but nothing shows.

Is your external HD formatted as HFS+ or FAT32?

Read up on it then, but can't remember what is the cause, only that the various solutions didn't work for me. I quickly transferred the "working" folders onto another hdd and formatted it.

Initially it was NTFS, now I formatted it to HFS, so far so good. Keeping fingers crossed.

My apologies on my "Dopeness". Didn't know where to start looking.

All my ext HDD are on NTFS. Do you suspect the NTFS format is the cause of such issue?

Most likely; OS X supports reading NTFS formatted HD but not writing. If you want reliable backups to external HD, format the HD as HFS+ and remember to eject the HD volume(s) prior to unplugging from the Mac.
