hi guys, so i got 2 rigs with some problems and would like second opinions on if my conclusions are correct.
Rig #1
Was working 2 weeks ago. Last week I switched off the PSU, plugged in a new GFX, switched the PSU back on - unable to start anything. So I then removed the new GFX and now it cannot power on at all.
Tried a brand new but unused Cooler Master PSU (kept in store for 2yrs+), also cannot power on.
So I concluded that the motherboard is dead. Would this be accurate? Or should I try it with a PSU that is confirmed working first to ensure that it really is a motherboard issue?
Rig #2
Was working about 2 - 3 months ago before I kept it aside because of getting a new rig. So I wanted to try the new GFX on it and plugged it in, ensured that all wires are properly plugged in, ram seated in properly, and went to power it up.
It powered up - PSU fan running, all system fans running, front LED light on, CPU fan running. But it did not start up, tried with onboard graphics, same. Unplugged GFX, fired it up, same.
Is this a dead HDD? Since it can't load up.
Suspecting the GFX could be killing the computers, I proceeded to try it on another rig. And it fires up and works perfectly fine thus eliminating that possibility.
Any opinion guys?
