Help needed for installing HD 6850

Hi all, I bought a new GPU radeon HD6850, installed the hardware into my motherboard which already has an integrated graphic card radeon 4200.

My windows 7 32bit System doesn't seem to be able to auto detect 6850 even after I've install the driver from the CD provided in the box. I checked the device manager, 6850 wasn't there.

Later I find out that I've to disable integrated graphic first. After that, I try reinstall the driver CD, the system still can't detect the new GPU and re-enabled the integrated graphic.

I also tried connect my monitor's VGA cable to 6850 but only black screen is present. Once I unplugged the VGA, the monitor display message "no signal"

I've been trying for few hours, still no clue what's wrong. Help Me!

Just a thought, does your 6850 require external power and if it does have you hooked it up?

Does your power supply have enough power to support the 6850?

andyson 530w. 6pin connected to new card. Graphic card fan is spinning but no image display when connect VGA to new card.

Is it possible for you to use another video cable to see if its the cable issue?

Im using a DVI to VGA converter to connect to my new card. But shouldn't my system able to auto detect my new card even w/o driver install?

after playing with this for 1 day, maybe you should also start to suspect that 6850 is bad, go down to shop to test ?

Hopefully enable pcie at AI tweaker will solve the problem. Can only do it tonite..

If really spoil den really si bei suay... sunday buy den get this quality.

model and brand of card?

DVI-I or DVI-D port are you using on the card?

DVI-D can't convert to VGA at all if your DVI-D->VGA converter don't have active digital to analog converter in-built. (freaking expensive by the way)

Finally google DVI-I and DVI-D and remember the pins layout for the cable connections for single and dual-link.
