Hello, thinking of upgrading my computer as now it is only able to run some games on low settings, it is a acer com i got years back, currently the parts are

Processor: I5-2400
Gpu: GT 610
Ram: 8gb DDR3

Only HDD no SSD.

I looking to play LoL and hearthstone on max settings, should i just buy a second hand graphics card/new one from lazada or revamp my whole rig?

Thanks!

Can consider 2nd hand GTX 750 Ti. Power supply and chassis must change for sure. Your CPU, motherboard, RAM and HDD still good. Consider adding SSD too.

not much price difference if i get from lazada during sales?

if i have a budget of $1.2k is it better off making a new rig?

Thanks!

Also can if you able to spot any great deal.

$1200 is more than sufficient for those games. If you reuse those mentioned earlier, you can get even more powerful graphics card to last you much longer. Up to you lor.

A GPU + SSD upgrade will do. If OP wants to do more, should sell the current rig and built a new one. $1,200 + a few hundred from the current rig is enough to build a good mid-range PC.

you need to change the power supply for sure if you are upgrading. The default for these PC are very low. Like 200-300W

Can get those low-mid tier GPU that is smaller size / no need exterior power since you are playing LoL and heartstone. No need high powered GPU.

HDD / SSD is up to you. Since it will get bottlenecked by the CPU/motherboard. Can use back your old HDD since the games you played don't need SSD. Unless you are running applications that require SSD, you can save it.

Can just change your PSU, GPU and maybe casing if you want. Less than 200-300 dollars is possible

Else, your budget of 1200 can get a decent PC(overhaul) to play Heartstone / LoL on high settings and still have changes if you want the easy way

Chassis type: Small Form Factor (SFF)

yes, sufficient for LoL and Heartstone

Can run Dota2/ LoL at high settings, can take a look at R7 260x / 265 too. AMD is cheaper at the low - mid tier .

Your case is too small. The only graphic card that can fit in that case are low profile card. A standard gtx950 cannot fit into that case.

Alternatively, you can change your case and PSU then change the rest.
