I also 携老带幼 twice to Taipei 7D & 9D tours last 2 years.

There are many engaged drivers in Taipei. I only engage them 1 or 2 days of my trips only. To got to those far east places like Jiufen, pingxi, qingtong and pi tou jiao. Most places mentioned need abit of walking and wheelchair may not be suitable due to steps. Plus if mobility is issues, it will delay all the schedule. They just bring you there, no tour guide service.

The rest of the places u mentioned, I got there by MRT and buses. Its nicer to explore via public transport. For elderly and kids, no worry as once you enter the station or the train, the ppl there will be so automatic and so nice to give elderly/kids priority to seats and entrances.

Museums I gone to 2 of those (Chia Kek Shi & Sun Yat Sen) but not suitable to rowdy kids.

Mao Kong/Zoo also gone via train - 30mins from taipei central. Whole day event - morning at Zoo and afternoon to Mao Kong top for dinner. Very nice, cool and cosy during my Oct trip.

All these places are located nearby MRT stations.

As for family premium hot spring at formosa, quite not worthwhile the $$$, I can recommend you the family spring where children and elderly can have fun but not cheap! IMHO, not worth the money. Its like a mini indoor amusement park with high end buffet. Also via MRT and short bus ride. (link - http://www.formosafuncoast.com.tw/) Da Tang Spa - many stuff provided eg. bath robe, shampoo etc.

1 more recommendation of hot spring - nearby Xin Beitou station. Its like a public pool where u pay like NT30-40 per pax per entry. Tons of ppl but very good experience and you can mix with local and tourist for kids and elderly. There are different pools of temperature from cooling (kids) to warm to very hot. Went there during a hot day after long walk - a good way to refresh ourselves. (Reminder - PUBLIC POOL, bring everything yourselves)

The most tiring parts is walking either in shopping mall or night markets.

My recent trip that, we did not set too much of interests, just one or two a day. I brought along my 79 y/o granny, of course assisted by my uncles and aunties too. Pls note, too much walking, sure tired and complained till siao one.

We did a day in Taroko gorge as Taroko attractions are easier. Down, See, View, and then up the vehicle again.

Shifen and Pingxi all needs to walk around to see. Even Jiufen old street need to walk in and out. My granny only walked till the 阿(女麽)芋圆, jiak some cold stuffs, then walk back out liao. Did not finish to the end where you can get another good view of Keelung harbour.

Yeah, elderly ard, quite a headache. Want them to enjoy but fear they tired and not happy. Many places of interest are like SG eg. Zoo, bird park, Marina bay garden etc all need some walking and exploring. If they not suitable to go these local attraction, maybe long distance travel aint so suitable too. But actually Taipei is one of the best, safe and suitable for 携老带幼 to go and enjoy.

We as travel planner had to plan well and rest sufficient for the elderly.

My fren so please with my F&E plan, he jio me again next year to bring him and his elderly to taipei again.

IMHO - farmstay is a waste of time and money. Elderly get bored. I rather spend more days in taipei hotel/hostel. Lolz... more time to savour the local food!!

Good central location hotel - just pop down stair, walk to back alley for local food, cheap and nice. Give more free time and elderly themselves can go walk walk by their own! lolz.

Tat's y i chose XMD instead. Coz XMD not so easy to get lost and easier to find makan place. Put an elderly at TMS, ho say liao! The underground mall, will be the ultimate maze!

You may try to meet a friend at Starbucks at TMS, chances are only like 25%, u will meet at where he mentioned.

Maybe you got a pair of old folks? :s13: I had to stop like 1/4 and 1/2 ,3/4 way to the Jetty from Danshui Metro. Like checkpoint. Then we took a boat ride to fisherman's Wharf. Think my granny first time riding a boat. Or maybe since the last time they went Ubin was at least about 10 years back.

No doubt we were in a big group of 2+2+3+4=11 pax, we only did Danshui for that day. Too tiring for her liao.

Complained to us that if minsu no lift, she will not stay next time. Haha! :s13: Till next time... Maybe year end.

My fav is fruit beer! Lagi cheap there! only NT40-50. Some supermart even offer NT30 per can! Drink drunk every night! Regular beer at 500ml - NT50-60 only!

We bascially clean house their beer stock every night at the nearest family mart to us! lolz, even the midnight salesguy got to know us well! Supper! We were spoiled for choice at TMS! So we didn't stick to 1 brand of beer, we drink all kinds of beer! :s13:

We must buy more extra beer daily! cos every morning, we go fridge, 1st thing is 1 can of beer and a 1 stick of smoke! :s13:

Bo bian, night time elderly and kids sleept liao, then is only our adult free time mah.

I always book the family suit with balcony one... Shiok! can drink and smoke all night there!
