help needed regarding NS enlistment

hello everyone. i am extremely confused about whether or not i will end up in mono intake in NS.

I am an 18 year old(born 2000) singapore citizen studying a a private diploma in SIM now. I left millennia institute last year cos i started to dislike the A level program. Anyways, I am heading into my second semester in SIM now and will graduate from my diploma program in September 2019, after which i will have to enlist. What i wanna find out is that will i 100% go into mono intake? I heard people saying that those without qualifications like A levels,IB diploma and Poly diploma will definitely go into Mono intake. Its not that i will be overly disappointed if i go to Mono intake; its just that i want to go to command school. what i can infer so far from whatever i have been hearing around me, is that if i go mono intake i can say goodbye to any hopes of going to command school. Just wanna know is this true?

By the way, I am fit most probably pes a or b1 with silver nafa. No medical conditions.

ps. the mono intake im talking about is not commando or guards or NDU. its the not so elite vocations like infantry that cant go on to become leader.

The question is, is it within your control? I don't think you can control whether you go in or not.

And btw, physical fitness and medical fitness is different. a lot of people think they have no medical condition and they end up having something.

Things like enlistment aren't really in your control. You can however defer your enlistment if you are given the letter to enlist before you finish your diploma program.

Not necessarily the case. I have mates from my days who are from ITE or private diploma enlisting into Tekong (while I'm poly grad), then the bunch of us join a combat unit after POP where all the existing guys were enlisted as mono-intake. One of them (from mono-intake) go on to enter SCS and join back our company as a sect cmdr a year later, though to note he signed on.

Being qualified to enter command school also up to quota and educational qualification. Needless to say, those with A-lvls or local poly diploma will most likely be considered first. If you want to get into command school, then be prepared to go the extra mile (but not so far as to antagonise your mates).

From what I know, there's definitely still a chance to get into command school even if you end up in mono. Coz there are some batches where they mix people of varying education backgrounds together.

What you can prolly do is to sound off to your commander that you intend to attempt for command school. Also, be a team player...
