Hi all, I tried searching for similar thread but couldn't find one.

Does anyone know how to remove the constant "pop-up" and redirecting to the Playstore's Mobogenie page? This mobogenie was downloaded automatically on my N3, and the pop-up has been constantly hijacking while I'm using the browser.

Would appreciate if someone can advise on a suitable removal tool for this.

Thank you.

Upon a quick search/check, Mobo genie is malware. It has it own
app marketplace (Playstore has their apk too).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobogenie.markets

You may have visited some sites that randomly download an APK
file called mobogenie_1501.apk. And installed it, e.g. :

The people from Mobogenie (Bejing, China) admitted it's their doing:

Found from other forum that may helps:

The trick they used was to use the same icon for downloads as their downloader. To remove this:

1. Make sure you have uninstalled mobo genie market.
2. Go to App, and swipe until you see "All" you will see 2 Downloads icon there.
3. The Downloads with no size is the legit one. Keep it, if you long press and select App info you will see that it's something related to your firmware.
4. The 2nd Downloads icon is the culprit, with a version of 2.02xx. Long press it, select App info then uninstall.

Mobogenie not virus, it's Adware ........... a sickening pop-up adverts.

Remove Mobogenie from Android Devices

Open Settings menu on your Android device
Touch Apps or Application manager (depend on your device).
Find and touch the Mobogenie application link.
Select Uninstall. from the popup menu, and let you mobile OS remove Mobogenie.

Hope this helps
