Help needed, upgraded build not powering up

Hi, I've been having trouble to get my upgraded build to power up.

I even strip it down to the bare minimum of CPU, mobo, 1 ram stick and PSU, place it on a cardboard box but still nothing

There's a flash of red light when I switch on the PSU and I'm able to update the bios thru q flash plus as the led light for updating blinks for a while

Mobo: GigabyteAorus b550 elite v2
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x
PSU: brand is andyson, not sure of the pwr rating but it's working as I can still power up my old system with it

5600x has no integrated gpu, needs dedicated card to have display output. try plugging in a gpu and see if that changes anything.

i tried the stripped down test with the psu connected to the mobo using 12 and 24 pin connector and also to casing fan and I used the screwdriver short method, fan nvr spin at all.

do I still need to put the gfx card in this case? cause I'm just trying to see if at least something moves or some led lights up

connect fan to psu? shouldnt it be connected to the mobo instead? also u are sure u are shorting the correct pins right? does the psu fan spin when u short?

hhhhmmmm, will check the psu fan, didnt take notice as I was so frustrated for not getting it to work

as for the shorting, I short the 2 pins that the manual put as pwr switch +-

ok, have connected to the casing fan to sys fan, still no reaction

The Andyson power supply is very old and it could be faulty PSU.
If unsure suggest bring to a shop let them test.

Suggest bring to a shop let them test.
Older PC not sure how old is it? Presumably a AMD socket AM2/3 PC?
Even if it can power on, on newer may not work.

I do have a old Andyson PSU but spoilt so if it is more than 5 years opt to change.
