is UX305 a far cry from UX32LN? i love the slimness of UX305

Hmm isn't the UX32LN being sold for $999 at Challenger stores too? Not sure if it's the 840M version.

You can look at benchmarks of Core M and compare them to i5. What will you use the laptop for?

I don't think UX305 spec of 8GB RAM and 256G SSD is $999 locally.
More likely 4GB and 128G only.

Saw it going at $999 at Best Denki for with 4GB Ram / 128 GB SSD

BennyMao, I don't know what you want to do with the laptop but if it's just for work purposes like office productivity, email, surfing the net, videos, light photo editing, etc... the UX305 is more than capable... no high end or even mid level games... for my use case, which is all of the above, it's pretty good... mainly it's the size profile and weight that are the main reasons for purchase.
