Basically for IT school in poly! Want to get the best buy :)


Budget range: $1400

Purpose (netbook, ultraportable, mainstream, gaming, desktop replacement, etc.): Gaming, Programming

Screen size preference: 14 inches and up

OS preference (Windows/ Mac/ Linux): Windows
requirements (example games and desired fps/settings): LoL, CS:GO

Performance requirements (video, CAD, etc.): Gaming, Programming, Java

Method of computer support (office supplier, college bookstore, self support): Self Support

Brand preferences and reasons (already owned accessories, familiarity, business compatibility): N/A

Any particular style that you like (examples are great): N/A
Which of the following qualities would you prefer? (Choose one, the other, or balanced)
Long battery life -vs- Low weight: Balanced
Build quality -vs- Low price: I would prefer better build quality
Low noise/heat -vs- High performance: Balanced

My school (polytechnic) will have an upcoming IT Fair and these are the labtops that are offered;

Where are the specs? The specs online might differ from sch promo.

Do you want thin and light or do you not mind a slightly heavier laptop at 2-2.5kg?

I wouldn't mind a heavier laptop!

What about the aspire v7 ultrabook?

Decided not to go with the schools' offers.

If you dont mind heavier laptops can look at s510 @ $899 with 4gb ram, gt 740m, i5 4200u.
It should play your games just fine at high settings.
