Omg! I see edmwers say Poco m5 is good and value so i bought one.

The brand new phone is good except!

Its running MIUI 13 global 13.0.10 and the phone prompt me to download update. I open the update it shows

MIUI 14
14.0.7.0.TLUMIXM

So i tried to download and update and press the reboot button.....

Omg! The phone won't boot up!

So to boot the poco m5, i press the power button like 10 second then it boot.

Omg. I didn't expect a new phone be like this.

So i thought maybe ignore the update? So i tried reboot the phone and again phone won't boot up! Need press power 10 second again to boot back.

Anyone who buy poco m5 have this problem? Did you update from miui 13 to 14?

I am stuck at miui13. The update don't seem to go through.

Now i reboot always won't boot unless press power button longer to boot.

Maybe the free new software update patch with technical software or bug issue leading to this problem?

There's no change in download the update. Same update just i factory reset before update again
Glad that you are able to reboot normally after 2nd update. So that is no reboot bug in the update rom. Maybe the downloading of the smaller OTA rom has errors and the full recovery rom fixed it.

So everything with the phone is ok now?
Seem ok as of now. Will try to finish all the whatever apps download then port over from old to new hopefully no more issues lol.

I think there's a glitch in the miui13 update to 14.

Maybe bad programming codes lol resulting maybe like half way updated then got system file incompatible.

I did update the xiaomi internal software first (system app updater) before doing the miui update

More than from miui 13 to miui14, it is also from android 12 to android 13. You had skipped one update, so did not saw the warning in the skipped version changelog.

  • Your device will be upgraded to the new version of Android. Don't forget to back up all important items before upgrading. The update process might take longer than usual. Expect overheating and other performance issues after you update - it might take some time for your device to adapt to the new version. Remember that some third-party apps aren't yet compatible with Android 13 and you might not be able to use them normally. Thanks for your continued support.

Omg. So i factory reset and installed the update all ok right? Tested reboot many times and system will boot up.

Then now i thought all ok and started to install apps etc to finish migrate the phone data.

Guess what? The reboot won't start up problem come back!

I really give up. Lol. Maybe when i free i call the service centre or go down ask why this happens.

Don't know is it the apps downloaded cause the problem or the phone hardware problem or software problem.

Disappointed really brand new phone.

So next time if want reboot i better power off the device then start it up again instead of reboot then nothing happen press power 10 second is more scary.

Reboot function won't or may take a longer time to boot up and can't charge also. I think the system not fully shut or whatever.

Lucky i test shut down can charge.

So, verdict is... Please don't buy this poco m5

For those of you who encountered this issue. Wait 5 mins or more to see if the phone will boot up lol

You can reboot normally after installed update means there is no hardware problem. Should be software bugs.

Report the bug in settings, services and feedbacks.

I already told you in the other thread top up buy Redmi note 10 pro.

M series are budget type not worth the money for their specs.

Next time post in hwz to ask real sexperts . Not the GPGT ones in edmw .
