I had a windows update last night.

This morning, my computer didn't start at all. No lights, no fans, no sounds, nothing at all. Power is plugged in and psu is switched on.

WHAT CAN I DO? HELP!

Next time, if you have an issue with Aftershock, call Aftershock. You pay extra for their support.

This is a DIY corner.

Now their PCs are much cheaper, maybe that's why support also lesser.

Possibly. But still, if you don't want to DIY because you want an easy time, then you get an issue, call the vendor instead of posting on forums.

I agree on this. This is the opportunity to utilize their service which you have paid for, instead of trying to sort it out yourself.

My recommendation is to disable Windows auto update. It is a pain and tend to cause issues with each release.

You may try plugging ur PC directly into mains or another mains, to see if extension or that particular mains are faulty? If still the same issue, then bring down or call Aftershock liao.

anyone who needs help can post here.
you dont decide who gets to post or not. ur not a mod, u dont own this sub.

i gt warranty i cannot ask here?
dont try to look down on people who buy the whole set because they "want an easy time".

we are all here to learn and teach, seek help and assist.

this is not edmw. this is not where u can go and say "hardware clinic not your personal helpdesk."

and if you dont want to help, you dont have to post.

Point is, in his case, it's more efficient to just call the vendor he bought the PC from. What if nobody here replied? Then he gets stuck?

He has a more guaranteed resolution path that arguably would be the better option since he paid for it. So, he would get faster support if he reached out to the vendor.

if he wants to post here, he is free to do so. and people will reply in their time. thats the downside of asking help in a forum, the time needed to get a reply. but that is probably something ts has already considered.

but if you turn him away with your reply, thats a different thing. you replied telling him to just go for the support. if hes here, he most likely is down to try some basic troubleshooting that we can offer. so if we know, and we dont mind, we can share and he can act upon it if he wants.

the next time it happens, you can do this.

the most basic thing you can do is a power drain. whereby you just unplug the main power cord behind your system, and hold the power button for 10 seconds. after that just plug back and on again. this method able to fix a lot of basic issues that u can try if you meet any kind of weird issue in the future before troubleshooting further

power will be drained from any parts that still has them, forcing them to properly shutdown and not be in a "idle" state where it is not fully shutdown, and cannot be properly started up.

I think his point is that if TS who doesnt know much follows some advice online but did it wrongly and spoil the PC, Aftershock may reject his warranty. In that case, can he seek compensation from here? Highly doubt so. Always good to refer back to manufacturer 1st.

you made a valid point, but im sure thats not what he meant. he cite laziness being the reason why ts bought aftershock, so bring his problems away from the diy forum.

if ts dont write the word "aftershock", we wont even be having this conversation.

Partially correct. My point is, this is mainly a DIY corner where, if things go weird with your DIY build, you can get 50 different tips and one may be right.

But if you paid extra for the convenience of a pre-built system, it's best to contact them first. You paid for the support and, as shadow84 pointed out, you may invalidate your warranty by trying things you read on a forum before contacting them.
