Hi guys, will need some advice from the experts here on building a pc for under 3.5k, not sure if they fit well.

I will not need a mouse and keyboard, but will require a monitor. Case wise, will probably change to carbide to cut down on cost, or if the manta case is too small for all the parts.

Games i play will be mainly FPS like battlefield 1, anthem, WOT and nier automata.

I have got some questions:
1) can my 1080 hit 100 fps at max settings for x34 for the games above, or get 271HU instead?
2) Should i wait for the HD monitors due end of the year?

Specs are as follows (from bizgram mostly):
G.skill Ripjaws 3000mhz 16gb 235
Gigabyte AB360 gaming 3 / Ryzen 5 1600 498
WD HDD blue 5400 1TB 75
Samsung SSD 850 pro 250gb 205
Cryorig H7 65
nzxt manta 239
Gigabyte 1080 G1 849
EVGA G3 750W (PC theme) 159
Win 10 OS (Carousell) 20
Creative sound card SB play 2 29
acer x34 1359

Total price 3733

Many thanks

NZXT Manta is Mini-ITX Case.

Your Motherboard is ATX, will not fit.

(Plus, its really ugly!)

Oh man, i kinda like that case shape tho hahaha. Have been using a laptop for quite a while, so im quite clueless about building my own PC now haha. Any other case to recommend in terms of airflow? Is the carbide 400c good? I like the latched side panel

I won't get an acer. Consider dell or Samsung. Maybe LG.

1080 cannot max out x34 at full detail settings. You need a 1080ti to do that

If budget is tight, downgrade to the xb271hu. But the experience with an ultrawide and 1080ti is pretty freaking amazing

Ok will change to 7200 for hard disk, otherwise too slow right, even if it is used just for storage. Will be using the ssd as primary drive.

Will probably still get x34, and upgrade my graphic next time.

Think i will change to the 400c for casing to cut cost.

Do the parts work well together? Like enough power for psu and also the ram with ryzen?

Try to get Samsung b-die ram from Newegg instead, I tried looking for it at Sim Lim but seems like most do not have stock.

1080ti on Newegg around 1-1.1k depending on model, but problematic if need to RMA..

x34 is amazing, buy on Lazada with LiveUp for $50 rebate + shopback.

Imbalance rig, I rather you focus your budget on getting a decent spec.
Monitor wise get those about $500 will do.
Later time than change to better monitor.
SB play is basic soundcard through USB.
I rather you use onboard than that.
Not to mention that one only one jack.
If you got headset, speaker you can't connect both at once.

Total Damage - $3803

For Motherboard, Asus B350 Plus has best VRMs and cooling for them. Looks nice, no gimmicks to increase price. Great position for M.2

Also if you're going SSD, don't go for old 850 Pro. Go for the 960 Evo m.2 NVME drives, they deliver really good reads/writes.

get the Red LED RAM for looks! Also MSI Gaming X for Red/Black theme...

FSP Hydro G has good reviews... They no longer produce junk PSUs.

Alternately to be cheaper,

Purchase EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC2 from Amazon, Make sure you pay with USD currency and let bank do conversion. Cost $1100 only. EVGA has Global warranty.

Purchase WD Blue m.2 SSD 250GB instead of Samsung for $149

Purchase normal Corsair LPX DDR4 3000Mhz 2 Channel without LED for $225

Total Damage : $3564

Do consider adding 2 more fans to the Fractal Define C case for extra $40 2 x Fractal Design Dynamic X2 GP-12

If you wish to add on better sound to the system, consider Fiio E10K for about $108 Has a great Headphone Amp that drives up to 300 Ohms and has Line Out for speakers.

By imbalanced you mean the specs is not good enough for the monitor?

Forgot to mention that i do bring work home, mainly illustrator and photoshop files. So the work space is a plus.

Gonna remove the sound card as i thought i wont get any sound otherwise haha. Damn noob

What I mean is try to get a better specs or rather a proper high end rig since you have a rather big budget.
Why not channel most of it to get a much high specs which can last you even longer?

Whatever is left than get a monitor.
Since you are doing illustrator, Photoshop get Dell Ultrasharp IPS monitor.
Not a fan of Acer products especially warranty, Dell Ultrasharp series warranty is 5 years onsite warranty which means anything wrong can just call them they come to your place to repair.

Acer one is three years carry in which means you have to carry it to Jurong east to service.
That is why Dell is one of the recommended for monitors.

  • AMD R5 1600 + ASUS PRIME B350-Plus - $483
  • Corsair LPX DDR4 3200Mhz 2x8GB LED 16GB(CMU16GX4M2C3200C16R)RED - $239)
  • Samsung 960 Evo NVMe 250GB - $195

  • Fractal Design Define C - $149
  • FSP Hydro G 80+ Gold 650W - $159
  • Acer Predator X34 3440x1440 Ultrawide G-Sync - $PC Show end of the month! - $1299~

  • Is the ram more suited as its b-die like DARRELL93 mentioned?
  • how does the fractal case compare to the 400C? prefer the look of 400C
  • do I still need the cryorig H7 or does Ryzen cpu come with one already?
  • So power wise 650w is more than sufficient?
  • going for m.2 NVME ram is also to save space compared to PCIe ones right?
  • should have gone for the lazada deal at only $1199 a few weeks back.

Was already thinking the 1080 was overkill, but went for it as the price was just slightly higher than my original plan of 1070. The budget was so high only because i just had to squeeze in the x34 hahaha, and also thinking monitors usually last quite a long time, enough for me to upgrade my graphics in the future. But i get your point. Also the warranty benefit of Dell. Ahh dilemmas lol

  • Is the ram more suited as its b-die like DARRELL93 mentioned?

After latest ASEGA 1.0.0.6 update, there has been no issue with RAMs running at rated speeds for most RAMs, so do not worry about compatiblity.
  • how does the fractal case compare to the 400C? prefer the look of 400C

Both are great. I prefer Fractal Design for its Sound Damping materials at the side and front panels to keep noise down by a lot. There is also a channel for routing cables behind the back panel.
  • do I still need the cryorig H7 or does Ryzen cpu come with one already?

The Ryzen CPU Cooler, Wraith Spire is more than enough unless you wish to
overclock over 3.7 GHz, then a bigger cooler is required.

  • So power wise 650w is more than sufficient?

Yes, 650W is more than sufficient as 1080 Ti is efficient, same as Ryzen CPUs.
  • going for m.2 NVME ram is also to save space compared to PCIe ones right?

NVMe is m.2 slot on the motherboard, so you don't need to have any SATA cables coming out of the motherboard. Also no need to supply power to a 2.5" SSDs.

For NVMe PCIe cards, yes, also don't use up extra PICe slot.

  • should have gone for the lazada deal at only $1199 a few weeks back.

I remember GALAX having sale for 1080Ti at $1169, Not sure if it is still on. Some Carousell users are still selling around that price.
