Hi guys, I'm helping my friend to ask.
He is planing to buy a simple PC for his dad to watch Full HD movies at living room.

His budget is $500 ~ $600. Need OS too.

Currently the only part he knows he want is the Case: "Coolermaster Elite 120 Advanced" Which is $84.

So is it possible to get a PC that can run full HD videos without any lag with his budget? Would a i3 and it's onboard graphic be enough?

Please help to list the parts if you can. Thank you bery much!! :)

Forgo that chassis and get something much more compact that fits everything nicely without wasting any internal empty space.

CPU+MB: Intel Celeron G1610 + MSI B75IA-E33 @ $156
Already more than capable to run 1080p smooth and steady.
RAM: ADATA Premier DDR3-1600 CL11 4GB @ $43
HDD: Western Digital Blue 1TB @ $76
ODD: Samsung 24X CD/DVD Writer [OEM] @ $21
CASE+PSU: In Win BM650 [Black] + In Win IP-AD180-2 [80 Plus Bronze] Flex ATX @ $109
Solid, compact chassis at only 6.8 litres (bersus Elite 120 Advanced's 19.9 litres) with 2 years warranty.
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit [OEM] @ $115

Total: $520

Buy and Build from Tradepac, #05-19.

Lol. You are recommending things that I all already have. :)

Ok, just one comment, a lot of people think a chassis with black interior looks good. However, black interior makes DIY at night damned inconvenient. I have to use a flash light to work on it at night... the normal greyish finish of chassis internal surface is so much more practical in real life. :)
