I'm finding 1200w psu not sure which one to choose from. So i'm posting this thread for help on this since alot of pro.

Currently using 650w now but i brought it before i got my 2nd SSD, ZXR Soundcard, 06x GT fan and 04x 140mm high pref fans. Now Oc-ing my gpu and cpu abit unstable so changing to a larger psu. Going to add other gpu in the near future too.

Here's my choice:

Leadex Platinum 1200W

AX1200i

Or there's other option for me to choose.

Thanks in advance for advise

Choose which OEM you want;

Corsair AXi - Flextronics
Superflower all ranges - Superflower
Seasonic all ranges - Sea Sonic
Antec High Current Pro - Delta

Need till 1200w?

How many GPU are you gonna intend to run in the near future?

I understand that you wanna OC your GPU and CPU. But 1200w is something more for 3 GPU setup and on OC.

Usually the Calculator online will be over estimated by a bit more.

Your ideal PSU wattage selection should be from 850w to 1kW.

A OC r9 290(x) (since it is one of the most hungry powered card right now in market) under my trusty Power Meter, with an OCed i5 4670k it is drawing about 430w-440w. A r9 290 should be drawing a mere 300-310w.

So for a dual setup with OC and a OCed i5 like for my case im drawing 770-780w under my power meter reading.

Now, if you buy a 850w gold rated PSU, you will probably gonna hit max. Your fan will have to work harder in order to cool down the PSU.

If you wanna be on the safe side. A 1kW psu should be recommendable for a dual r9 290.

Do check out what GpU you intend to use in future.

Roy i drew slightly over 1kW on my 850 before. Cant speak for other brands but seasonics will handle past their rated wattage

2 r9 295x is a dual gpu on a single pcb. That's like having it on crossfire of 2 r9 290x.

Are you going to spend over a thousand over dollars on the card itself? Be realistic.
