Hi guys, need some advice and help here.

Since 2 weeks ago, my 3 yrs old PC suddenly was unable to boot up. It would power up for 2-3 secs then off, then on again and off and keeps going until i off the power. I would then need to take out the CMOS battery, put it back and it would work just fine. The problem would then happen again after a few days.

Now, the PC would sudden freeze, and i would have to push the restart button on the chasis to restart. May i know the possible problem causing all this? I'm suspecting it may be due to overheating, although I'm not doing any intensive work when things happen. It would unable to boot up even though I didn't use it the whole day and it would just happen. I have checked the temps and the when boot up, the bios would show 51 degrees. In gaming, it would go up to around 60 degrees.

My specs are:
i5 3470, MSI B75A-G43 Gaming
Gigabyte 760 Windforce
8GB valueram
FSP raider 550W

I do not have any other spare psu or gpu that I can troubleshoot with, I would appreciate some help and advice as to what may be the most possible problem. Thank you! :s12::s12:

Some things you can try first -

(1) replace the CMOS battery;

(2) re-seat the GPU and RAM (take out, clean the gold contacts, put back)

(3) re-seat the CPU with fresh thermal paste.

Hi guys, i have re-seat the cpu with thermal paste, however after i done that, it was unable to boot up for a few times. I took out and put in the CMOS battery, and it started up until the windows logo, and then it BSOD and shutdown. After that, was prompted to start windows normally or startup repair. Clicking on start windows normally will BSOD again. Went into startup repair, and let it repair for some time before decided to restart the pc by pressing the button on chasis.

Somehow it was able to boot up fine when i click on start windows normally, and here i am posting this. :(
Not sure when it would be unable to boot up again, but any ideas what may be the problem?

Try to run with bare minimum components & monitor. Difficult to troubleshoot.

Recently I upgraded my cpu, mobo & ram. ran fine for a week, but started to stuck at windows loading for 5min before loading into windows. I took out 2 of the 4 sticks of ram, & it totally cannot post even I put back the rams. Tot the gpu was dead, then suddenly after a few tries, it was able to boot but no display. Then ok again. today auto rebooted 3 times at one go. Now ok liao, I also dunno what happened.
