Hi all,

Specs are on the right. I've been using this DIY pc for 2 years now, I'm wondering how come even with Palit Jetstream 670x, ocassionally i am experiencing lag in games.

Some of the games will be dota 2, when a lot of spells are cast at a time, I experienced slight lag.

For more obvious lag will be diablo 3, although i read that there are a lot of issues with this game with nvidia cards.
My graphics will not be very smooth and when there are a lot of mobs and spells casted, it became very lag and might stutter at times.
When Vsync is on, it makes things a lot worse, so when i off it, it becomes like the issue mentioned.

Apart from the specs, I'm using MVP virtu, but i tried turning it off, it makes no difference also.

Can any of the experts help or advise please?

Thank you all.

Drivers? Check if the gpu is on power saving mode or something like that.

Control panel > power options > perfomance

Right click anywhere desktop > nvdia control panel > go for performance instead of quality at those available selections.

See if it helps.

Which drivers u using? Currently only 344.75 is the stable one, sometimes also not stable. I use my Gigabyte GTX 670 to run simple games like FIFA 14 occasionally will lag. Something to do with the drivers. I usually alt+tab out to desktop screen, then come back to game again, then no more lag. Try experimenting a workaround. High chance the newer nvidia drivers being pushed out are meant to optimise the 700 and 900 series cards, not the 600 series cards.

First of all, can you list the settings in which your games are set?

You might have set your games to Ultra settings and maximum AA settings which can cause occasional slowdowns during intensive game sections even with a GTX670.

Try lowering some of those settings and see if it helps.

Also, are you using the latest drivers? Post a screenshot of what drivers you are using. Drivers can make or break games occasionally.

Lastly, is your GPU or system overheating when you are gaming? Install MSI Afterburner and let it run in the background while you are gaming. After gaming check the monitoring status of your GPU and see if its throttling due to overheating like >90C..

Update us when you have done all this.

Order of Optimization:

1. Turn off or down Ambient Occ.
2. Lower AA Settings.
3. Lower Textures and misc.

4gb is not enough for 64bit OS, gaming.

just add ram should reduce substantial lag.

Meanwhile try to check for any overheating

I'm running the games in max since they are easily supported by my GPU..

i've installed MSI afterburner, the UI seems a bit complicated, how do I monitor it?
