Help! PC repair

I hv a pc that cannot power up. I tested the psu with pin and the fan is running. Is it power supply spoilt. It a 4 yrs already.

you might want to try to boot the system with bare items such as cpu, cpu cooler and ram. no drive or graphic card.
the power supply fan also might be able to spin if you short it as its not consuming much load.

I tried what you said. Still cannot power up. Any recommendation to repair at sls?

do you have a spare power supply? what is your system spec? when you mentioned it cant turn on, there is no light at all on the system? you know nowadays on the mainboard, there is this power led.. even that also isnt lighted up?

Old mb giga b75 d3v with g2020 ram ddr3 2x2gb... Use for youtube. No other psu to try. Don't know to repair or buy new mb cpu & ram.

Not worth the cost to repair.

Probably dead MB but can't be certain if you don't have spare PSU and MB to test.

hmm actually depends on your budget and are you willing to take time to troubleshoot, else can get new system. assuming your power supply still functioning.. or can search in the marketplace for sandy/ivy bridge socket motherboard..

since usage is only youtube, perhaps can consider ryzen apu. 2200g.

The paperclip test only test if the PSU can power up without load. With load the results can be different

Alternatively I have spare known working PSUs (not sure if I will be selling them) and Sandy/Ivy Bridge mobos (will be selling them soon) if you need

SLS should have H61 gigabyte board left but I notice the pricelists for most shops have delist that model. Go carousell, many boards there. You have spare PSU to test?

not worth repairing because the cpu use too much power. You can get a new gemini lake computer for $200 in lazada.

Or make use of 58 off voucher to offset a pc in qoo10. As for your g2020, even if you try to sell for $20 also hard. new replacement mobo not worth same price as latest gen, and if u buy second hand wont last.

Yesterday changed a new psu. Same cannot power up. Anyway to get a budget mb with igp +cpu+8gb ram with $250.

Ryzen 2200g with a320m motherboard but try to get a 2x4gb kit instead of a 1x8gb kit. It helps with the igpu speeds if you ever do some light gaming like csgo or dota on low settings.
