[Help]PC shuts down suddenly, on/off switch irresponsive

Help, my pc shuts down suddenly on its own without any symptoms or fps drop and my

PC's on/off button is not responding as well as it should, I need to repeatedly press it many time to turn on my computer.

Could it be a faulty power supply?

Is there a reliable repairman I can call or a good pc repair company I can send it to?

Suspected that one of your cables shorted.

It could be the mobo where all the wires connected from the on off switch somewhere have been either shorted.

Meanwhile, list down all your specs and psu model and how old is the pc.

The specs on my profile is the current specs of my pc the one on the right hand side, about coming 2 yrs

Psu is corsair ax850

Alright. Check your CPU Temps first.

Download HWMonitor and run it.

If the idle temps are around 38-45 range it is normal.

Download Prime95 and do a quick stress test.

On load temps are around 65-75 range. Any thing more could be some issues.

Just open prime95 then just stress test.

If your idle temp is at 55-62 is risky le. Sounds like cpu overheating.

Check your H100i is it turned on? Got pump moving?

Yes it's switched on my pc is rather dusty....didn't know HAF X is a dust magnet =..(

During stress test see the temperatures.

You got to manually stop it. Try to post some screenshots here.

If it doesnt shuts off then most probably another problem try stress testing the GPU.

Run Furmark testing. Download and run it. Check the gpu temps.

Stress test is designed to run indefinitely until interruption by user.

Ok my CPUTIN was 64 degrees celsius....core zero 61 degrees...the rest are 54-56

Ok I ran it for 10 mins, 1920x1080 dynamic background, burn in, extreme burn in and post fx switched on....fullscreen and no anti aliasing....temperature leveled out at 77 degrees, no distortion or artifacts...com did not shut down too

Hi, I have a Corsair AX 750 that have the exact same problem as u. I nvr encounter auto shut off but when I press my power button it doesn't turn on unless I spam it. End up I went to RMA it and came back with a Corsair RM 750 (AX 750 EOL) which solve my problem. For my case, I'm pretty sure it's PSU faulty as that's the only component that I have changed.

U can check ur event viewer critical - error 41, kernel power
