[Help please] Laptop unable to apply windows updates

Hi all,

Seeking your kind help please. I own a gigabyte P15, and have been using it for about a year plus now. Recently ran into an issue in which the laptop is unable to apply windows updates.

Usually, what happens when I try to shut down is that windows prompts me to 'update and shut down'. When I next restart it, it then shows the blue screen to try and update, but a while later I get a message that says:

"We couldn't complete the updates
Undoing changes
Don't turn off your computer"

afterwhich the computer restarts for a couple of times, before finally loading the login page.

I am thinking this can't be very good - any suggestions as to what could be wrong please?

I'm on Win 8.1 currently - is there a known issue please?

Thanks for this! Tried running it - downloaded the updater and it failed to launch, got to the stage of using the command prompt. It's running now (been running for a while) so hopefully it works.

Very strange for a 1 ish year laptop!
