PC (about 4-5 years old now) nowadays constantly lag. like the loading of games is slow, opening apps/chrome will become [Not responding] for about 5 seconds before it comes back alive again. Basically entire comp becoming super slow, laggy and hangs at times.

Is it a graphic card, MB or hard disk issue? Thinking to just upgrade the specific part instead of buying an entire rig (i'm poor). Thanks!

Could be Windows or a dying HDD. I suggest you keep an eye out for bargains on 120GB or 240GB SSDs. Installing your OS on a SSD will speed up your system considerably.

Your pc probably full of trojans, bloatware and malware accumulated over the years. Try a fresh windows install first. Its free and should solve the problem.

Download HDTune and do a Error scan (without checking quick scan) for bad sectors.

If bad sectors exist, time to buy an SSD.
If no bad sector, do a fresh install of OS as suggested by Crimson_Fury.

i encounter similar problem on my old PC (about 4years usage). Primary case for failure was my failing HDD, windows message prompted me that certain areas on my hard disk was unreadable and I was unable to perform defrag on my HDD.

Perhaps its time to change out a HDD for a SSD. Motherboard and CPU are usually more lasting, but their age/use will end with higher speed cpus and better technology. GPU for your case no problem, theres no flickering on screen nor blackout color zones.

common problem when using same harddisk for OS and data ... the seeking head in the harddisk need to keep moving to feed both demand , can't concentrate

actually i haven play high end games cos i know my pc cant handle. mainly cs (even this i oso running on low settings haha)

will be good if it can handle higher end games too so i dun mind spending abit more on the upgrade. maybe budget of 500 for the graphic card itself. is 1060 3gb and 6gb alot of difference? i see lazada price difference $50 only

CS is cpu dependent, but with the cpu u using shouldn't be of any issues.

anyway with 500 budget u can with buy GTX 1060 or wait till qoo10 coupons to get GTX 1070 below or around that price.

the performance difference between 3GB and 6GB isn't so much on 1080p but can see difference in 1440p.
