Hi all, i'm facing some problems with this computer. Auto shutdown occurs when i'm playing graphic intensive games. Removed all overclocking profiles and running at stock clock speeds doesn't seem to help. Issue just started today. Computer also will fail to boot up after auto shutdown, will cycle through the startup process and randomly black out. Takes about 5 restarts to get back to desktop.
Temperatures of gpu and cpu are all as per normal.

Checked voltages under load using HWmonitor and the 12v rail looks funny. 11.4v was max and 10.8v was average. Psu is about 7 months old. No issues previously.

The +12V voltage reported by your motherboard is rarely accurate. But this does look like PSU issue. Remove your graphics card and try.

My bro's g3258 pc also had this issue after a few days of overclocking. His worked perfectly after we changed it to stock so maybe yours had some damage?

you can try 3 things

1) do a stress test for your gpu
2) remove your gpu and use on board graphic to see if there is any issue
3) if you die die suspect is psu, swop it out and test with another psu

i doubt its the psu, i suspect its either the gpu or mobo that is having the issue.

Yes it does shutdown on stress tests.

if i remove the gpu, can stress test be done on the igpu?
cause it only shuts down during gaming or stress tests.

Yup, it is possible, try with on board only and see if it fails.
you can try to reseat the gpu after rubbing the connector parts with eraser or use another pcie lane.

meaning the problem lies with the psu being unable to provide the power needed?

you can also try a psu stress test, it might be the psu or the gpu having issue.

you would have to slowly troubleshoot item by item and narrow down the specify component that is causing the issue.

1) PSU
2) GPU
3) MotherBoard (Pcie lane, board circuit)
4) Chip (i5, most unlikely)
5) Rams

I would normally test all those plug in parts (GPU, Sound Card, Rams) first before moving to other main component (PSU, Mobo)

so can only be the psu problem right? can't get hold of a spare psu, will have to go to tech dynamic to rma..
