primary school student leh :s22: later instead of doign his work he
trying to figure out how to open the programs to do..

Ubuntu has words processing suite, that's FOC, as it's licensed under freeware.
Actually Ubuntu gives Windows a run for its money, considering its prowess.
It's actually optimized for those who don't know command line like me quite alot, there are forum online that can provide help as and when needed.

To TS:
If you're just providing basic documents processing, you can go Ubuntu to save on OS and Microsoft Office.
Ubuntu's preloaded with LibreOffice, or you could get other opensource software too.
You can skip DVD roms if they're hardly used, as Ubuntu OS size is rather small at less than 2GB, which you can load to a 2GB thumbdrive/SD card and install from there on.

For web browsing, Firefox is included.
Music is taken cared by Rhythm
Movie players are included too.

Side note would be to install updates as they're ready and up to keep the system up-to-date.
everything will be fine.

if libreoffice is not enough you can go for openoffice...previously owned/develop by Sun Microsystem then now owned/developed by Oracle

Libreoffice is basically OpenOffice 2.0. Oracle has done next to nothing to improve the software since they bought it.
It's like comparing IE10 to IE7.
