Hi fellow members i would like to get some help on my upcoming trip to Japan ! It is my first time in Hokkaido and my first time traveling solo. I need help for a 5 days itinerary. I planned to make a day trip to Otaru during this 5 days but most of the time i will be spending in Sapporo.
I am not driving and i have limited budget on transport too.

sure I just came back from Sapporo and otaru... so you'll only be in Sapporo and taking a day trip to otaru?

what's the budget? 5 days for sapporo even with day trip to otaru is a lil long, assuming it's almost 5 full days.

if interested and got budget for onsen, can stay one night at noboribetsu, bus round trip is 3650 yen according to japan guide.

I disagree. I stayed 7 nights in Sapporo with a day trip to otaru and I just managed to eat and drink at all the recommended places in the city, along with leisurely chilling at cafes etc... so it really depends how you enjoy travelling

ignore my marusei coffee every morning, even though I went there every other morning, it was just a place holder, easily replaced by something else on the fly

Masazushi 政寿司 not cheap leh ...

In Sapporo, go here for cheap eats. It.s at Tanukikoji (4th & 5th street)

https://www.google.com.sg/maps/@43....4!1sEFnZVsYMT0k2pugHEQIOyg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

The ground floor shop behind white car in this pic. Sells Ramen (450), Tonkatsu set etc (800) with free flow miso, rice & coffee ! Jiat & Lim ba ba.

Go grab the food items at Daimaru (closes 8pm) & Esta (closes 9pm) basement food section near closing times.

Will try marusei coffee in May trip !

i get my daily coffee fix from 7-11, Seicomart or Lawson
good and freshly grounded coffee at JPY 100, with free flow UCC milk
so far Seicomart's coffee is the best among the 3

oh and shiroi koibito.. well I went in the winter when it was snowing so the atmosphere was kinda special. but apart from that... shiroi koibito (the snack itself) is really no big deal compared to other Hokkaido goodies
