Help: SML + Taipei (7D6N)

Hi guys,

will be traveling to taiwan next year..
was thinking of the following itinerary..
appreciate your comments.. TIA

Day 1: Wed
Touch down Taoyuan Airport (Scoot-0520hrs)
Take HSR to Taichung + bus to SML
Check in + start day tour at SML + Formosa Aboriginal Culture Village + Fengjia NM
*should I stay in SML area or back to Taichung?

Day 2: Thu
Take HSR back to Taipei
Check in hotel + XMD shopping +

Day 3: Fri
Yangmingshan > Beitou > Danshui > Fisherman Wharf > Shilin NM

Day 4: Sat
Maokong > Wufenpu > Raohe

Day 5: Sun
??

Day 6: Mon
Jiufen > Pingxi line (Jingtong > Shifen) > Keelung NM

Day 7: Tue
Last min shopping around hotel, arrange for transport to airport

Stay in Taichung

Day 2: Thu
Take HSR back to Taipei
Check in hotel + XMD shopping +
What time do u reckon that u will reach the hotel cos XMD is reco to go after 7pm

Day 3: Fri
Yangmingshan > Beitou > Danshui > Fisherman Wharf > Shilin NM
Abit rush here if u r going to soak in the hotspring and walk YMS

Day 4: Sat
Maokong > Wufenpu > Raohe

Day 5: Sun
??
Can do a,
- Taipei Underground Mall
- Taipei East Shopping Zone
- Taipei 101
- Shida NM

Day 6: Mon
Jiufen > Pingxi line (Jingtong > Shifen) > Keelung NM
So for Pingxi Line only stopping at Jingtong and Shifen? Planning to go Shifen Waterfall or not? Jiufen reach at about 1130 cos shops there dont open that early

Day 7: Tue
Last min shopping around hotel, arrange for transport to airport

I'm also going next Feb..Just know the places but yet to go into details.

>>>Actually I was intending to stay in Laura Ville which was recommended by some blog reviews thus was thinking if it is do-able to head to Fengjia NM from SML and back to SML to spend the night or should I do a 3D2N in SML+Taichung (to visit Lavender Cottage.. etc)

Imagine if u head out late at FJ NM, after that cab back to SML just to slp?

1hrs 15mins journey by car..And SML nth to do at night if you're thinking about going back early. Infact, i dont even reco staying at SML. More expensive than staying around Taichung + the fact u can finish both(SML + Formosa) in 1/2 to 3/4 of a day.

1st day reach Taiwan, standby with driver best then go lavander cottage..End the night with FJ.
Next day with the driver, head to sml + formosa, finish that then get driver to send u back to taichung HSR and head to Taipei..

But warning, prepare to squeeze with china tourist..SML seems to be one of their favourite nowadays.

Anyway Feb can consider Wuling Farm or Alishan for Sakura instead especially if it's mid to end feb period..
