help: ssd cannot load

I just got my Intel 530 ssd. Successfully cloned the OS partition from my old HDD and change bios to boot from SSD. However, after cloning, my SSD was assigned drive letter D. I wanted it to be drive C, so I formatted my old HDD and change its drive letter from C to F. Thought I would then be able to assign drive letter C to SSD. But now I can't load into windows. After logging in, it can only load a temporary profile and l can't access control panel and all system related app. Can someone advise what l can do? I do not have a win7 repair disc

Restart yr pc. Press "DEL" key when pc start and go into BIOS. Make sure boot priority #1 is set to Intel SSD so that when pc reboots, it will load windows from ssd an then will automatically assign ssd to C: drive and hard disk to e: or other.

download windows 7 iso ( free, and legal) and burn to a USB stick and repair your windows with the stick.

This was what I did initially after successfully cloning. but somehow my old hdd was still seen as C: and my ssd got assigned D:. So I went into Disk Management to change the drive letter of old hdd to F, thinking I would then be able to reassign ssd to C: But ended up with all these issues

After assigning my old hdd to drive letter F:, PC had to be restarted in order to assign C to ssd. But once restarted and I login to windows, it shows "preparing desktop" for a very very long time before finally loading into a blank desktop, no icons no startup menu/taskbar.

I used ctl+alt+del to open task manager and then run explorer.exe in windows folder. I loaded a temp profile and startup menu/taskbar and some icons appeared. But when I click on control panel, computer, regedit or any system tools, it will prompt "no such interface supported"

Tried the startup repair option by pressing "esc" during PC bootup, it did went into the repair screen but it doesn't resolve the issue. I've also tried selectingSystem Restore under repair option but it couldn't find any restore point.

Now at a lost

try going into safe mode.... then create a new user profile...
boot up normally, log into the new user profile and see if its still going to a temp profile...

u called this successful clone over?

1) what clone software u r using? Acronis True Image, Norton Ghost or Clonezilla?

2) After cloning, its always recommended to unplug all other drives and let windows boot in the first time.

3) Set the cloned HDD to the first boot priority after u cloned.

u should be fine after that. Do a reclone again if u still have the old OS hdd.

Used the Acronis supplied by Intel. Hmmm, after cloning, the message did said completed and asked to restart. Managed to bootup from SSD successfully (but I did not unplug the old HDD), so I thought it was ok. Unfortunately, I've reformatted my old HDD, I guess the last resort is to do a clean OS install on SSD

i just clone my harddisk recently with a software, except to a bigger SATA drive instead of SSD...

after cloning, open the pc, unplugged the original hdd and let windows boot normally.... i dun even need to set what priority in bios... but mine is normal hdd, not sure about ssd... let the pro advise...

anyway, i would suggest, plug back your original hdd and if its still working as normal, re-clone your ssd...

btw, what software u use to clone?
your SSD bigger capacity than your hdd?

I've wiped out my original hdd. ssd is smaller capacity but it is ok, since my OS data in HDD is smaller than SSD capacity.

Also hope not to do clean install unless there are other solutions... I tried googling for info, think I should not have changed the drive letter...
