Tried to update my Crucial M4 to the latest version(was 01G) before i updated but the win 8 automatic installer provided by crucial suddenly said error 4 while updating my ssd firmware halfway and crash to startup with an error msg 0x000021a now the ssd can't boot.

Any way i can save or restore my ssd to what it was before?

now trying the usb firmware update option but im not sure how to do it.

When i tried using that win 8 installer from crucial recently, update fail but when i check firmware vision, it's showing the 070 firmware..But still manages to boot up but eventually i flash back to an older version before using the win 7 installer to flash it to the latest(Using the installer for win 7 as well)..

i tried once and then the second time i saw the error 4 then my ssd died.

How you manage to downgrade or flash the ssd?

i using the usb method now but dunno how to inject the mbr cos it says access denied ..

I flash once using that Win 8 Installer but fail, reboot still okay. When i try again, say already updated.

So i went searching for older firmware(Win 7 installer), manage to find then flash back. Will reboot and flash..

Boot up normally then use latest firmware in Win 7 installer to flash up.

I down back to 040H

On win 8..But the win 7 installer got no issue updating it..Just that they work differently in performing the updating..
