Hi, will be glad if someone can help me on this issue

PC specs

Asus x99
i7 5930k @ stock 3.5ghz
Asus 970 GTX
Seasonic G series 750w
Samsung SSD 850 Pro 256gb
Samsung SSD 850 Evo 250gb
WD 2TB black
Windows 10 with 358.59 nvidia driver

Issue: Was doing some work on Photoshop and Lightroom. Pc suddenly restarted. When it came on open the applications and worked for a little while before restarting again. Tried on a game GTA V, computer restart when switching screens.

Run Prime95. Workers doing fun on stress load for 10minutes. When stopped workers. Computer restarts.

Normal web-surfing and youtube no issue.
- Using Photoshop and Lightroom for the past 30mins now. No restarts yet

Monitored with HW monitor results below. Ruled out overheating issue

Hardware monitor
Voltage 0 5.08 Volts [0x7F] (+5V)
Voltage 1 3.38 Volts [0xD3] (+3.3V)
Voltage 2 12.29 Volts [0x80] (+12V)
Voltage 3 0.83 Volts [0x68] (VIN3)
Voltage 4 0.70 Volts [0x2C] (VIN4)
Voltage 5 1.81 Volts [0x71] (VCORE)
Temperature 0 33°C (91°F) [0x21] (Mainboard)
Temperature 1 47°C (116°F) [0x2F] (CPU)

CPU temperature idle/ web 31-36 degree, GPU 49-52 degree

Any pros out there can render any assistance in determining the culprit?

Prior to all these happening, google chrome close tabs will restart the computer but i did a full sweep and re-installed chrome. it seems to be working flawlessly now.

try taking out your items 1 by 1?
first try to unplug the GPU and test
if got spare psu also can test with it

Thanks all, appreciate your replies

Don't think ram is the culprit..

Also the system is sometimes stable and sometimes not. Scared I bring down then it become stable... Can't even diagnose...

Any other opinion

It does not cost you anything to run memtest86 while at home. After all, you don't have a spare PSU to swap too. If you do nothing, problem will persists.

always first troubleshoot the rams if the PC reboots or freezes randomly.

hmm, it's not randomly, there's application or activity that trigger the restart.

i.e. close chrome tab previously or games running and Photoshop/Lightroom

But i will try memtest later! Thanks!:s12::s12::s12:

I have the same problems like this before.

I tried few options and luckily nothing happened since then, It's been 5 years since my last problem.

1. Reinstall windows or Run Recovery if you bought a branded PC.

2. Identify RAM -> Use spare RAM lower than the current one is okay. If problem still occur, suggest use a RAM with Higher GB than the current. (You can borrow from a friend)

3. PSU -> Check your current PSU vs your PC capacity, I am using seasonic, 650W 80+ GOLD, so far so good.

4. Harddisk -> If 1 - 3 done, and problem occured, you may try to install a windows to any spare HDD and see.

5. GPU problem
6. Motherboard problem.

7. If none of above. I suggest the last resort, trade in a new one.
