[Help] System tray items took longer to load

hi guys, help needed in addressing this issue that i encountered.

After restarting the computer, all of a sudden, when booting into desktop, system tray icons take longer than usual to load (never happened before). I have not installed any new software nor change any hardware recently. Theres also a error message saying, windows explorer has stopped working. Since the 1st restart, my system tray icons takes very long to load.

Am thinking to reformat my computer. Looking for solution first. Thanks in advance.

If u can look under task manager to disable some useless app that's hogging the startup loading, try to uninstall those apps if u can.

Next can consider upgrading to a ssd.

@OP, you can try going back to an earlier restore point or system image.

try this

press winkey+r 'RUN' will pop out. type 'msconfig' in open bar.
click on 'Start Up' folder and unthick those unuse exe files.
Restart PC and see if there are any improvements

I tried this, seems to helped abit with Asus media streamer WSagent service disabled.

Thanks all, will try to monitor if theres any abnormalities.

try this too ...

open all your IE browser (Internet Explorer or Chrome or Firefox ) one at a time
when you do search does it using your PREFERRED search engine?
If not scan for malware. Also check 'Programs and Features'.
Uninstall those programs which you did not install. It happens to me sometimes. Or maybe I just cock-eyed ... heheee
Scan for malware again.
