so my PSU confirmed died the other day so i went and bought a new one. later on that night, i go install, PC was able to turn on but died after about 30 minutes.

so i send to a shop and it said mobo failure. mobo got warranty, so i went to corbell to RMA. corbell took a look, was able to stress test the mobo for 30 minutes and said it was working fine.

so i went home and plug back everything. Pc was able to turn but after 15 minutes, it rebooted. after that, it started to keep rebooting every few minutes till i off the PSU power.

so my mobo is fine, PSU, graphic card, RAM is all new. the only thing is processor. the corbell guy did told me that my chip seems to be dry because no more thermal paste. so i was wondering

could the lack of thermal paste cause my PC to keep rebooting? :s11::s11:

Enter BIOS and view the Health tab to see how hot is your CPU temperature?

ok. any value to take note of ?

At idle, it should not hit more than 35-40 degrees on stock cooler, or maybe less. Anything thats near 50 while idle, you have to change the thermal paste. You can find at SLS. The brand of thermal paste I normally use is Arctic MX-4.

Hope this helps.

if he suspect it is because of the thermal paste then try to clean out the old paste and reapply new thermal paste.....5 min job...if still doesnt solve the problem then it is not from the paste and try troubleshoot other part.......new part can cause the problem too...

Have you ruled out software/virus issues?
If CPU temps is the issue due to poor thermal paste, then it should be shutting off due to overheating protection, and not randomly rebooting.
