[HELP] Upgrading PC

Hey guys, I have a computer that is around 3+ years and playing games on it is a torture. I'm getting 10-15 frames per second and I am thinking of upgrading my graphics card to play more of the latest titles at around medium to high settings.

Here are my PC specs:
MSI MS-7613
Intel Core i5 750
Memory: 4GB
ATI Radeon HD4650
Power Supply: 300W

I don't know what to do so I thought to just come to HWZ to ask for advice. Can you guys help me to upgrade my PC and what parts should I get? Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays!

Just a few questions:
1) It runs on a ATI Radeon graphics card, can i use a Nvidia graphics card instead? Do i have to install the Nvidia Drivers?
2) If I upgrade the graphics card, I will have to change my power supply also so how much should i get for the power supply? 550W?

U will need to uninstall ur old drivers before u can install a new nvidia gfx

A decent 500w psu will do

Wads ur budget for gfx + psu ?

The HD4650 is a low end gpu.

Q1) Yes, you can use Nvidia graphic card. You also need to install nvidia driver.
Q2) A good 500W PSU with 80% eff or more is enough.

Did you bought your computer from HP or compaq? If you do, check for the size of casing to see if your new stuff are able to fit in it. Pre-build computer from brands like HP, dell, acer, bla bla bla does not have much room for upgrading especially when it comes to hardware size.

Yeah HP. It is a Mid-size ATX case. Oh ya, one more thing, is it necessary to get a new RAM?
