Situation:
I am using two laptops both running on LINUX. One as a client and the other as a server, communicating through WiFi, handling some data feedback and control instruction the programming used is C++. I have 4 USB webcams (LogiTech C300) connected to the server (laptopB) and the video is to be displayed on the client side (laptopA).

Problem:
Currently, displaying the video loacally with the 4 webcams connected to the client has no delays. However, when the 4 webcams are connected to the server and transmitted wirelessly to the client, there is a long delay (5-7secs) in the displayed video. The resolution is already set at 160 x 120, which is quite pathetic for vision naviagtion. I know that this is due to wireless part. Does connecting the server laptop to a wireless access point with dual band (2.4GHz and 5.0GHz) solve this problem? Is there a better solution?

Thanks alot!

You should post this at the Internet Bandwidth & Networking Clinic section.
