Some background, i am a teenager, and i like building my own computer. 2 years ago, i started saving up money to buy whatever i want. in the end i build a computer with this spec :

Asus m5a78l-m lx 2 motherboard
AMD FX6300 Hexacore CPU
2x4GB Kingston 1333mhz ValueRAM
Western Digital Blue 1 TB HDD
Sapphire HD7770 Vapor X 1GB GDDR5
Random "500 Watt" power supply + Case

At first everything works fine for the first year. running smooth with no hitches. Then i add on the HD7770 GPU on the second year. Since then things went crazy. My computer would boot (CPU fan is on) but blank screen. not even BIOS. I brought it to a local computer repair shop in Punggol area. The guy told me i have a dead motherboard. I believe his word as they BIOS did not show up. But i feel that the cheapo Power supply may cause it as well (going to replace it). From what i learnt, a dead motherboard can also kill other parts. i have tested my GPU and it still work. However, i cannot test the rest of my parts ( CPU, RAM ). Is the any repair shop that can help me to figure out if these parts are dead as well. I need to know as i will get a replacement if they're dead.

Thanks in advance

There could be any number of reasons why a computer will not post. I won't be too hasty to assume a bad motherboard.

Take out the graphics card and try booting with onboard graphics.

I'm willing to bet money the psu is causing the issue. Get the 450w fsp hexa+ for $58 and see if the issue presists.

Next thing to try is without any RAM. You should get a loud beeping sound. If no reaction, chances are it is a dead MB.

I assume you have already checked that the front panel connections are secure and the CMOS battery is properly inserted.
