Help: Window 10 do not recognise usb flash drive

Dear IT expert,

Recently upgrade my PC from window 8.1 OS to Window 10. Window 10 do not recognise my flash drive / external hard drive.

please provide me with the solutions.

go to control panel --> Device Manager --> uninstall the USB and restart your PC, it will auto install back the USB driver.
If not let us know your motherboard

Actually what's wrong with Windows 10? Been hearing reports that it cannot detect their USB keyboards, mice, flash drive and portable HDD.

Didn't hear of such issues in Windows 8.1, 8 and 7.

when u go device manager, do u even see the thumbdrive?

if can see, issit ? icon? if yes just uninstall and insert thumbdrive again.

if totally cannot detect then your chipset and mobo driver or even usb 3.0 driver never install properly.

Yes i can see the thumb drive ( it stated unknown storage device) got yellow triagle exclamation icon. when i examine, it stated driver: error

that time you buy your mobo, win 10 have not come out.

You need to go to the asrock web site and look for the win 10 usb driver and re-install it.

TS, go dl DriverPack Online https://drp.su/index.htm and update your drivers. *remember to uncheck the "recommended softwares" u just want to update drivers.

I have a ORICO external 2.5" HDD casing and it does not work with Windows 10. It worked with Windows 7 and 8.1 . Tried updating drivers but didn't help.
