[HELP] Windows 10 update error

Just done a clean reinstallation of Windows 10 and when i tried to do an update, i kept getting this Error encountered message.

My internet is totally fine as i can browse the internet and install other programs.

Anyone knows how can i solve this issue?

Reboot your PC and try again.

If that isn't enough, right click on your C drive and select Properties

Then click on Disk Cleanup; that will open a new window. Then click on Clean up system files; select every option you see and click OK to clear out the junk.

Then reboot before trying your updates again.

BTW, you might want to merge or keep your posts in the same thread. That way, anyone reading it can follow your work and understand the whole situation before suggesting any solutions.

Thanks after disk cleanup i can update but now there is another problem

the downloading status has been stuck at 0% even after 30 minutes.

any solution to this?

Normal.

Reboot and/or run it again later.

Newly installed OS would & may encountered such issues due to other reasons.


When i did fresh/new install Windows 10 on 2 laptops it did sometimes may have to run the update later.

It is normal as it may take a bit of time to reflect the status from 0%.

It would either download or install ONE update at a time and may depend on situation.

Leave it running in the background as this may take a long time to complete.

Do note that you would need to reboot to install other updates separately.

Alternately click on the Refresh Icon.
