Looking for advice to building a gaming rig with a budget of $1000-1400. What parts should I get and where should I get them from? Looking to play AAA titles like Dark souls 3, Witcher 3 etc. Any advice is greatly appreciated. :)

Thanks for the dteailed reply :). For the motherboard and processor combo would it be better to spend a little more and get the i5 4690k + MSI H81-E36 for $432? I've heard some good things about the i5 4690k. No idea about the H8-E36 vs h110m-pro vhl though.

no point getting K series unless u really want to OC in the future. and differences on the board is just some differences in the extra features on the board.

The 4690k is an older cpu that can overclock, but not worth it since you wont be able to oc without a z87/97 chipset motherboard. Get the h110m-pro vhl and the 6500 instead, it'll do better for gaming.

Rather shock to hear this from you. Are you sure?

Initially, some manufacturers enabled K overclocking on non-Z MBs. Intel subsequently issued micro-code to block this. If OP buys a MB now, it will have the micro-code.
