Help with a PC Build

Hi all,

Many thanks to everyone who suggested I visit PC Themes. They have specced me the following PC. I am going to run it off my 1080p TV but have specced it so when I get a 4K TV I don't need to start over. Thoughts? Does anything seem off?

Case: Fractal Design R5 - I want this as I need this PC to be as silent as possible.

Processor: Intel i7 8700 - not a lot more than the i5 really.

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370XP-SLI - I want the ability to to SLI when I buy a new TV.

Motherboard is something I could use some advice on.

GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1080 Windforce.

Which 1080 to get is something I could use some advice on.

Hard drive: Toshiba 3Tb.

I always thought that Western Digital were better?

Hard Drive: Samsung EVO 850 500Gb SSD.

Power Supply: Seasonic FP FX-650W.

Need to check as I don't know if this could run a second 1080.

16Gb RAM 3200.

Any preferences as to G.Skill or Corsair?

Small 21 inch display for use only to install apps.

Don't SLI. A lot of games has poor or no support for SLI. Your 2nd 1080 (future) will be useless most of the time.

Get 1080 Ti for 4K gaming. For the 1080Ti, MSI 1080Ti Gaming Trio.

I rather you take i5-8500K and a cooler for OC-ing...

The 650W PSU will barely power 2 1080...

Toshiba is great for normal use HDDs.

Get a 2nd hand monitor from Carousell for temp usage.

first of all, do you require i7? what is your usage? purely gaming? secondly, do you require a huge capacity ssd?
a single 1080 ti would be sufficient. ram, you can go for corsair as i trust them alot.

Its just for gaming. The i7 seemed decent based on the Digital Foundry review. Plus its only 150 more than the i5. The SSD was about 100 more than a 250Gb.

Put that 150 bucks to better use somewhere else; an i5 will do an excellent job for you.

If you are sitting 5m from your screen...is there a need to upgrade 1080p tv to 4k tv because it is too far to see the difference, no?

with this kind of distance he needs like 100"+ for 4k to be worth looking at..
