May I request expert advise on the following

I have kept some personal documents in Dropbox. Recently this documents needs to be updated by someone so I told them to install drop box and I gave my dropbox user id and password so that they update the files it gets sync automatically on my computer.

Now I don't want the other person to have access to my files. If I change the password, other person will not able to sync files but what will happen to the files which are already in his computer? Any way I can protect?

Request your help to share your valuable inputs..

Thanks

Nothing you can do to copies of files people retain.

Even if you revoked access to Dropbox, if they made other copies of the files, it's still their copy.

Now I have the following options

I copy all the fiiles to my local drive in another separate folder (Safe backup)
Copy this folder to my google drive account.(Once again a backup to be safe)

Then original dropbox folder I encrypt all files.
So the files on my folders will be encrypted and over written.
If the other person has just have a dropbox files on their computer, all files will be encrypted while syncing
After a week, I change the password. So the other person will not able to login.
Now I put back original files.

This way I can safeguard my data provided other person has not manually copied the files.

Dropbox has versioning, so you can simply log in to the web site and download a previous version of the file.

If I were u:
Just create another dropbox account, put the files i wan to share in that acc, and share that folder to the "someone". Though abit 多此一舉 , but i psycologically feel safer.

It can actually be done by just give access to a folder n put the files in that folder from my original account.
