I'm having problem with my previous built where keep getting random restart. The restart will only happen after window loading screen.
Random restart gets more rampant if I'm running dual channel so end up using only 1 stick of ram. I am not sure if the ram is the issue.

Ryzen R5 3600
Gigabyte B450 DS3H
Palit GTX1060 3GB
Corsair Vengance LPX 2933mhz 2x8GB
Coolermaster MWE Gold 550W
Adata XPG SX8200 Pro 250GB

Diagnostic process
Tried removing all non essential stuff like fan connector, all front IO connector and swapping the ram stick to different slot while keeping the razer keyboard with RGB, wireless USB for mouse and wifi USB adapter, audio jack but to no avail.
I notice that when I remove the keyboard and wifi USB adapter, the random restart stop.

I tried the keyboard, wifi USB adapter and audio jack on my laptop and it work without any problem.
When I purposely insert keyboard or USB battery bank into the USB port, there is a high chance that it will immediately restart.

When I touch the case, I can feel static shock, I thought the motherboard USB was shorted so I changed the mobo, cpu and ram to
Intel i5 12400F
Asrock B610M HDV/M.2
Crucial Ballastix 2x8GB 3200Mhz

After changing, same random restart happen. Repeated the same diagnostic process but to no avail. Same observation found where random restart stop if I only connect the wireless USB for mouse while removing other USB devices and audio jack.
Same when I purposely insert keyboard or USB battery bank into the USB port, there is a high chance that it will immediately restart.

Any kind soul can give advice? Is the PSU the culprit or something else is shorted?
Don't want to spend money again and yet same problem persist.

CoolerMaster PSU not enough juice to power so many USB devices. Likely 5V supply is dying.

Its weird, I have it for close to 3 years now. It was working without any problem for slightly more than 2 years. The problem start to happen after that that.

Suggest change the power supply first than try again.
Could be PSU or GPU since you have change CPU and motherboard.

.....

You might want to fix the short first.

Alternatively, do you have the same static problem if some other electrical device is plugged into the socket? If so, could be a socket problem.

After i changed to a new cpu + mobo + ram, no more static but random restart still persist with keyboard and USB adapter plugged in.

Only when I remove those USB devices but only leave the wireless USB mouth adapter will the random restart stop.

Get a new PSU, faulty GPU won't cause random restart and since you already replaced cpu/mobo/ram.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the suggestion.
Changed the PSU to superflower GX Pro 650W.
Tried repeatly pluggin in the USB devices to the front and back USB port and play some games for half a day. No random restart so far.

I believe the PSU also killed one of the Corsair Vengance LPX ram stick as i've tried diagnosing it using the new mobo. The 5V rails must be faulty.

Good to know you fixed the restart issue. No one here recommend CoolerMaster PSU.

If you still have the RAM you can check with Convergent whether can RMA/Service or not.
Cooler Master power supply are hardly recommended, first year it work fine.
However second year or few years later, it will start to have issue.

Superflower is a good brand besides Corsair, Seasonic etc.
