Backstory:
So I have a US appliance, a blender with an electrical rating of 110 V/12 A, so around 1200-1400 W. I am planning to use it in Singapore.
Problem:
In Singapore with 220 V rating, I got a 5000 W step-down transformer to convert 230 V to 110 V. But I have a problem, before I purchased this transformer, I did not take into account the amount of power you could pull from the socket. I am not sure what are the ratings for my residential circuit breakers are, but whenever I turn on my transformer, it trips my circuit breaker. Now I have a 5000 W transformer that I do not know what to do with.
Anybody has any experience with this kind of stuff before? Maybe there is an Electrician on this forum or someone who has encountered this similar experience before?
Any help or advice is appreciated.
