Hi , it's only been one and a half years since I bought my y500 Lenovo .
Used it for PS , AI, rhino, and also gaming CSGO and dota2 only .
5 months back , one day my laptop , has no screen .

It can be switched on , without or without battery (using adapter).
Fan is running , keyboard lights are up, I can even adjust he brightness of the keyboard ligh as it has two level brightness .
But it just show black screen with the fan running .

Sometimes if I get lucky , and leave the laptop on for awhile , the screen will appear and I can use normally until the next time I switch on again the same problem come back .

I've tried removing the ram and place it on the second ram reader however it couldn't be turned on . Only the initial ram reader can turn on with the fan running but without screen .

So I sent it for repair it took 3 weeks to repair and it cost me 160$ didn't tell me what problem was it , say it might be motherboard or ram problem when I left my beloved laptop at the shop that's all . However now the problem reoccurred again . Same symptoms . I sent it back to the same shop again now waiting for their call ..

Does anyone knows what problem is the cause of no screen but fan running . Unable to go safe mode too.

Y500 is under Lenovo warranty if have bought it locally. Why did you send for repair?

Seems like graphics card issue. Probably the shop did not change the graphics, just do a reflow for you.

Did you try one single card configuration instead of SLI? Remove the additional gfx card on your right and boot up.

Is the screen blank, or the screen appears but there is no back light? I had an old laptop where the back light failed after a few years
