Some context.

I am living in China at the moment. Am thinking of getting the Nova 16. I'm using Simba.

I will be relocating to Australia later this year. We have been going into the Huawei stores, Vivo stores, Xiaomi stores, etc. We keyed in the IMEI numbers of the display phones into this website and all the phones cannot be used in Australia. One of the sales assistants told us that the phones are locked to Huawei being a display set so that's why it's registered as being unable to be used in Australia.

Would appreciate if any Huawei users can input their IMEI number into this website and let me know if their phone will work in Australia?

I have done some research. On Reddit, there are people reporting that their Huawei sets (bought in Australia) can be used in Australia. However, I want to get a China set cos it's so much cheaper. The other alternative is to get the SG or MY set.

I am currently using a VIvo phone that was bought in China 2 years ago. No issues using it in Australia when we went back.

I will still be using my Simba sim card with the new phone that I want to get. Worse case scenario is that I will carry 2 phones with one that can work with an Australian sim card.

Thanks!

I'm using a global international set huawei pura 80 pro. I believe there are no issues using it in aussie. For your case the china set huawei nova 16 should work in aussie based on 4g bands.

I believe u should be more concerned about apps compatibility on Harmony os?
