1. Maybe 2 days for Disney (land and sea), 4 days for tokyo city, the rest for mt fuji (lake kawaguchi and/or hakone)

2. Odaiba, harajuku, ginza

3. Excluding big ticket items like disneyland tickets and transport to mt fuji, $100 per day shld be more than enuf for food, snacks, getting ard, and small souvenirs

4. Not for the places u have listed. Can consider hakone free pass or fuji hakone pass if u going hakone or lake kawaguchi to see mt fuji

5. U haven't stayed in airbnb. For hotels, u can consider Toganeya Ueno and Super Hotel ueno iriyaguchi... They have triple rooms

For 9 unless you're a foodie willing to plan your itinerary around must eat places suggest looking for places where you are going to. Also the must try places are very likely to have long queues.

10. Search for Tokyo free guide. Basically free guide service by volunteers. You need to pay for their expenses. Details in their website.

Hi it will be my first time to Japan next month April for 10 days may I have your suggestion or itinerary on where to go ? We are arriving at haneda airport and planning to stay in shinjuku or akihabara area . .

My question is
1) I would like to know how many days I should put into tokyo area ? I mean places near my accommodation.

Shinjuku is probably the best place to stay if it is your first time going, I'd recommend Keio Plaza Hotel, if you don't mind paying for it, if not, the Shinjuku Washington Hotel is another great place to stay, it's just a little further to walk from the JR station.

Where else are you planning to go? If you are just planning on staying in Tokyo, then 11 days is really a lot of time, and you can dedicate 2 days to DisneyLand and DisneySea.

2) in the itinerary checklist I would like to put in

mt Fuji , sensoji temple , akihabara district , Tokyo skytree , tsukiji market , ueno park, shibuya ,Disney land .. and what else you guys suggestion thanks

Don't forget the asakusa temple, as well as the market. Also take note that Tsukiji Market it closed on certain days. you can check out what days the market is open over here.

3) how much budget for one person for a total 8 days approx (in usd or sgd ) . We are 3 person

I'm terrible at budgeting, so....

4)should I really get a JR pass ? Because it is expensive and I don't really understand how the train works there .

If you aren't planning on journeying out of Tokyo by train, or using the train as your main mode of transport (at least out of tokyo), then you don't really need to get one. I'd recommend getting a Suica Card, or a PASMO, (EZlink card type variants) The Suica Card is obtainable at the JR stations, and PASMO are obtainable from the Metro Line stations, both are similar, and will let you travel on the JR line, as well as the Metro Line.

5) any affordable apartment or air Bnb that you guys have stayed before ? Mind to intro to me ? Appreciate it .

I personally have never tried AirBnB in Tokyo, but I have had friends say they are much better than hotels, especially for the price.

6) do they speak English ? Nor understand ? I only can speak English or Chinese

Some will definitely speak english, but even so, their english is pretty limited. But with google maps, you can't really get lost anyways.

7) I heard the train there in the morning is super packed of people . Do you know which time to avoid the jam ?

The train is always going to be packed with people in the mornings, no way of avoiding it. To avoid the jam, you would have to set out pretty late, and as you are on holiday, it would waste time, especially if you are thinking of hitting up Tsukiji Market. I would recommend arriving there around 8-9am, so depending on where your accommodation is at, set out according to what google maps tells you.

8) what is the common phrases I must know to use there ? I am used to be polite .

I guess Kon'nichiwa would be the most common thing to say, it means hello, and ArigatĹŤ, it means thank you. You can pretty much just google translate and here what they sound like.

9) any food recommendation that I must try ? Let me know a lot thanks

I'd recommend GyuKatsu Motomura in Shinjuku, the line is pretty long, but if you don't mind waiting, it really is a treat. It is considerably quite cheap for the amount of meat you are getting.

Another place would be Ichiran Ramen, another place with a long queue, but this ramen place is 24hrs, so you can pretty much expect a queue at any time of the day, but it is super worth it to go.

With regards to your pocket wifi, I personally never used one before, but if is as easy as going to Changi Recommends, and booking your router through there. Definitely should book before you leave for the trip, don't head to the counter and ask for one, most of the time, they do not have. You can apparently book one as late as the day you are about to travel, though don't quote me on that.

Google translate is one of the best things to use in a foreign country. I personally just use Singtel's 1gb data roam plan. I know it's a little pricey for what you actually get, and there are cheaper alternatives, but I'm lazy, and the fact that i don't need to change sim cards is a lifesaver.

Not sure if its easy to find triple sharing rooms in Tokyo. But since there are 3 persons. Maybe its better to book Airbnb accommodation instead.

Can find just then cannot be specific or particular about hotel location liao.

I think for first timer to Tokyo a proper hotel better you can use the front desk/concierge for help and access to advice and directions.

I use singtel's 1gb plan also. Good for light users.

I guess you could always get a two bedroom hotel room, then add on an extra bed

I was actually considering staying here for my trip in January, but I chose to stay in a hotel instead as it was winter season, and the hotel would change linens.

3LDK Penthouse

It would depend on what your budget it.

For this list, 8 days is definitely enough as you are using Tokyo as base.

Dont forget Shinjuku area. Quite a bit to see and eat

3) how much budget for one person for a total 8 days approx (in usd or sgd ) . We are 3 person

Excluding hotel/room: I'd say SGD100 is more than sufficient for above average food and transport, excluding shopping

4)should I really get a JR pass ? Because it is expensive and I don't really understand how the train works there .

For such short distance and centered around Tokyo, no point getting JR pass; A JR pass is only worth while if your travel long distance between cities, 2 way (eg: Tokyo to Kyoto and back)

5) any affordable apartment or air Bnb that you guys have stayed before ? Mind to intro to me ? Appreciate it .

6) do they speak English ? Nor understand ? I only can speak English or Chinese

Simple English or Google translate

7) I heard the train there in the morning is super packed of people . Do you know which time to avoid the jam ?

Avoid taking trains between 8am to 9.30am (you can use this time for breakfast). The rush hour may only apply tocertain directions and stations.

8) what is the common phrases I must know to use there ? I am used to be polite .

Arigatou gozaimasu (Thank you); Ohaiyo gozaimasu (good morning); Konnichiwa (hi; greetings; after morning); Konbanwa (good evening)

9) any food recommendation that I must try ? Let me know a lot thanks

Check various threads and travel reports in this forum.

10) anyone have friend over there that willing to us for a day trip I would appreciate it . Of course will treat him good . Travelling date from 20-29 April.
