HGTS HDD weird behaviour

My HGTS 4TB HDD bought feb 2015 got some weird problem... no problem detect in bios...but sometime windows 8.1 the drive can just disappear. then i started to copy files to other HDD also will cause pc to hang..... doing hDD fitness test the smart test is pass... got once it show drive failure... is the HDD going uplorry? checkdisc from windows show error and need to be repair..

While the HDD needs a trip to hospital, can a faulty SATA cable cause it to happen too?

ahahaha, i have the same problem as you.

mine fixed by itself. till this day i have no idea what was the issue.

i successfully done checkdisk and repair all errors... now the HDD appear normal... like what u said it heal by itself... few days back is disk failure.

btw yrs also HGTS 4TB?...

problem also bios detect but windows never?? i search internet they say do windows memoery check will auto see the HDD again... then i did and HDD appear... but i try back up file can half way sudden hang... then some time stary up pc got BSOD.. but today the HDD appear normal after done chkdisk and repair... i suspect is the sucky windows 8.1 pro
